There's an empty feeling around us
and we're trying hard to cope.
But you were the one person in the world
Who always gave us hope.
Because you were the brightest candle
with your passion and your charm
You kept us shining through the darnkess
and steered us clear from harm.
You kept us warm on cold nights
and dry on nights with rain
you made sure that WE were happy first
and you took away our pain.
You'd always dance around us
like the shadows of your flame
You'd stand out in the biggest crowd
letting everyone know your name.
And when our wicks were dwindling
You'd light us back up again
with a joke, a quote, maybe your laugh
or just your crazy grin.
How we're going to make it
without you I don't know
when all we want is to be with you
or see your beautiful glow.
Why you're gone, I don't understand
it doesn't seem quite right.
I don't know why you had to go
and leave us without light.
Maybe it's too cold in Heaven
and not even blankets will make do.
so God found the brightest, warmest candle
and that happened to be you.
